The weary Vance stood up from the floor and walked towards Rend. Filier stood up and headed towards Jane. She faced Vance, “We have to get out of this castle. There are too many dangers that crawl through the rooms.” Vance replied, “That’s true… I’ll get us outside.” He turned his face toward the distant hall, his eyes focused and his voiced roared, “Ocarina!” A blur of light manifested, its radiance catching Filier’s attention, at the core of the spherical light was the blue ocarina. It gleamed a soft blue. “Let’s hurry up,” spoke Vance, “come closer Filier.” Filier nodded, her arms heaved Jane along with her. Vance started playing a soft tune, it resonated through the empty halls leaving a luminous echo. A great light gathered around them, encircling the four people. Sparkles and glitter filled the empty space around them, which rapidly moved. The scenery around them started to shift from the gloomy halls into the warm field on the outskirts of the abandoned castle. The kingdom it once ruled was empty, only sadness loomed over the rubbles of houses. Jane and Rend woke up and began to sit upright. “We’re outside aren’t we? Look Rend, the castle looks much dirtier outside. The overgrowth of vines creeping from its sides, the smog stains from the fires that once surrounded the castle, the burnt houses who surrounded the castle grounds. It’s all disgusting to look at. The moat that we had to swim across reaked of something that rotted years ago, and the streets that spread like roots were cracked and destroyed from the constant stampedes of people who rushed from the accursed kingdom. Ughh…” spoke Jane coldly. “It’s true. The stories were right. Let’s head back.” sighed Rend.
The field was barren of flowers. What swept the land was grass… and not the good kind. It was dying grass, dry grass, and spots of dead grass. It was a dead field. Although the sun warmed the field, it was the worst kind of warmth. The four individuals walked and walked, taking some breaks between the gloomy outskirts. With Filier lagging behind, Vance and the other two slowed their pace. “You alright there Filier?” asked Vance as his head turned revealing a tired face. Filier lifted her head, “S-Sure… But I think we all should rest. Just in case of an unprecedented event you know?” They, all agreeing with Filier’s suggestion, looked for something to rest upon. “This grass will not do. It’ll be like sitting on needles.” complained Rend. As she turned to look for something else she spotted a tree in the distance. Its leaves were falling off but the branches provided enough shade to cool them off. Between the distance, spots of plantation could be seen but they were plucked. It was as if flowers once swayed in the spots. Vance, Rend, and Jane begin moving towards the tree. Filier took a gaze of the landscape, it was reminiscent. Ahh?! “This place…” Filier murmured. A flash of the scene could be seen. It flickered, flashing parts of the view. The plucked spots were once again filled with the beautiful flowers swaying in the breeze, and they flashed back and forth. The tree that lost most of its leaves were filled with deep green leaves. Delicate fruits hanged from the branches which swayed slightly with the zephyr. The dead land, transformed into that warm, delicious field of green, green grass. The image blurred in and out, flashed and flickered. Filier’s view of the gloomy landscape returned, all the while she remembered the voice that spoke to her. Filier rushed toward the tree hoping to gather any clue as to what that vision was. Remember me? Remember me… Vance, Rend, and Jane sat on one of the uplifted roots on the rugged tree, looking at Filier with askew. Filier looked down at the the tree’s roots and began looking around. She stopped at a particular spot, and began to chant a spell. Upon completion, a glamorous box arose from the muddy soil. She picked it up and opened it. Geodes and gems were inside the mysterious box. “Obsidian… This rock…” lightly spoke Filier. She looked up towards the sky. Her eyes afixed on the deep blue hues of the sky where clouds didn’t seem to appear. The cloudless view faded as Filier came into another memory.
